Creative Arts at Camp 

Children will use their creative side when they take classes in this program area.

Drawing / Painting

Classes are offered each week to strengthen the campers skills in these areas.

Drama


Campers create, produce and perform a production for the camp on Thursday night. The production is video taped, so that campers can critique their play. The video is played on Friday's while campers are being picked up by their parents.

Campers write and edit the Sacandaga Sun, the camp newspaper. Campers interview staff, write articles about their experiences and put together comics for their newspaper, which is printed on Friday. Classes may also be offered in poetry and creative writing

Creative Crafts


Many classes are offered in a multitude of mediums. Classes may be offered in Native American crafts, poster design, collages, air dry pottery or wood-burning. Every week different crafts are offered.

Rotating Crafts


Rotating crafts are the more traditional camp crafts, such as tie-dying, T-shirt design, dream catchers, nature collages, making creative envelopes, or drawing.

Other classes, such as photography, nature drawing and specialized crafts are also offered, depending upon staff qualifications and expertise.
