Directions to 4-H Camp Sacandaga

Three maps are located on this page. Just pan down throughout the page to find the map you need.

As you can see, 4-H Camp Sacandaga is located in the heart of the Adirondack Park in Upstate NY. Camp can be reached by taking three separate routes. The first map is a master copy for reference. Click on the lower links to bring up specialized maps for different starting locations.

From Albany       From Utica        From Amsterdam ( Interstate Thruway Route90)

From Albany, NY

Take Route 87N to exit 23, ( Warrensburg Diamond Point exit). At the end of the exit, take a left over the bridge ( which goes over Route 87), then a right at the light onto Route 9. Follow Route 9 through Warrensburg. After you leave the village of Warrensburg on Route 9, you will come to the intersection of 9 and route 28. Take a left onto Route 28 toward North Creek. Follow Route 28 into the Town of Weavertown to a light. Take a left at the light in Weavertown onto Route 8 North. Follow Route 8 North (about 30 minutes) to the intersection of Route 8 and 30 North. Take a right onto Route 30 N and route 8N. Follow until you enter the village of Speculator. At the main intersection, take a left following route 8. Follow Route 8 out of town. Once the speed limit changes to 55 mph, you will see Page street on the right hand side of the road. You should see a sign for 4-H Camp Sacandaga and Moffitts State Park. Take this right turn and follow the road for 500 yards. 4-H Camp Sacandaga is on the left.

From Utica NY

From Utica and Route 90, take route 8 and 12 North. Take the exit for Poland NY, staying on Route 8.Follow Route 8 through Poland  NY, and through Lake Pleasant. ( it takes about 45 minutes from Poland to Lake Pleasant). After you pass through Lake Pleasant, You will see a Stephenson's Lumber/ True Value on the left side of the road. Immediately after the hardware store, you will see a road to the left, named Page Street. You should see a sign for 4-H Camp Sacandaga and Moffitts State Park. Take this left turn and follow the road for 500 yards. 4-H Camp Sacandaga is on the left.

From Amsterdam, NY

From Amsterdam, NY, take Route 30 north. Follow it all the way through Mayfield to Wells, NY. Make sure you stay on 30 North. It takes a few turns, so be careful to watch the signs. Once you pass through Wells NY, you will see the joining of Route 30n and Route 8 North.( 5 minutes north of Wells NY on route 30. Continue to follow route 30N until you enter the village of Speculator. At the main intersection, take a left onto route 8. Follow Route 8 out of town. Once the speed limit changes to 55 mph, you will see Page street on the right hand side of the road. You should see a sign for 4-H Camp Sacandaga and Moffitts State Park. Take this right turn and follow the road for 500 yards. 4-H Camp Sacandaga is on the left. It should take approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from Amsterdam NY.
