4-H Camp Sacandaga is a small residential camp nestled day is done.jpg (59145 bytes)in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate New York. Originally a Civil Conservation Corps facility, the property was purchased in 1945 by the New York State 4-H program to run leadership programs. To see more about our rich history, please visit the History section of our web page.

The camp is currently owned and operated by the Fulton / Montgomery, Oneida, and Warren County Cornell Cooperative Extension offices. These counties contribute funds, time and resources to help run the facility. The board of Directors is comprised of 4 individuals from each of the contributing counties.

The program has grown to serve 105 children per week throughout the summer. We offer a traditional one week residential camp experience. We provide classes in Environmental Education, Creative Arts, and Aquatics. meettree.jpg (28509 bytes)We also have Counselor in Training and Archery programs. The youth we service range in age from 8 to 17 and come from a variety of social , and economic backgrounds. The season begins with two weekends and one week of intensive staff training, followed by six weeks of full camp sessions.        In addition we have a cloverbud weekend. This program allows younger children a chance to play at camp, sleep over in a cabin, and explore the natural surroundings around camp. Parents can participate in the activities or watch from the sidelines. This structured program allows parents to see their children in a relaxed setting with their peers.

For many of our cloverbuds, this is their first camp experience. Having the parents attend this session with their children makes this a memorable and rewarding experience for children and parents  alike.
